What are the consequences of the private sphere merging into the public realm, and the public sphere morphing into private realm?

Weaving dreams

Textiles, Drawing and the Built Environment

I have been creating art professionally for more than twenty years. My practice explores the idea of cultural identity and interaction in the public and private realm. As individuals and societies the idea of what is public or private is increasingly blurred. It is this space, the merging / overlapping of public and private, that I am interested in.

Between 1996 and 2011 I lived in Sweden, where I completed my studies in Textile Art at the School for Design and Crafts, Gothenburg University. Since returning to Sydney in 2011 via a year-long Artists’ Residency at Rimbun Dahan, Malaysia, I have held a solo exhibition at Tamworth Regional Gallery, undertaken a three-month Artists' Residency at Eramboo in Terry Hills and in 2016 began Architectural studies. Since receiving my Bachelor of Architecture, I have been exploring the Idea of Public and Private space through drawing and embroidery.

My work in the field of Architecture has brought me back to basics, putting pencil to paper, exploring space and the every day.

My aim is to contribute to the part of the world that creates beautiful spaces to live…
